Library Fairs To Celebrate Programs and Highlight Services

The Libraries in Wallowa County will be offering five Library Fairs to celebrate local library programs and highlight their role in building strong communities.

Libraries provide a variety of services ranging from loaning books, sheet music, and audio/visual materials; to delivering LARGE TYPE books to sight-impaired and homebound seniors; to offering free educational programs, including pre-school literacy support to parents; to providing free Internet access.

Want to learn how to download an eBook or audiobook from Library2Go; order a book from the 81 interlibrary loan members of the SAGE Consortium; or do research using the LearningExpress or Gale databases? Staff will be available to help you open these doorways to new learning. In addition, there will be activities for children, free children's books, and food.

Representatives from YES for Wallowa County Libraries will be onsite to answer any questions people might have about the future of libraries in Wallowa County and the upcoming Library District ballot measure, which will be on the May 15th ballot.

Bring a neighbor and check out your local library and its services!
